Haya lived in Budapest from 1941. In 1944 she joined the underground. Thanks to Aryan documents she received from “Bnei Akiva”, she maintained contact between the members of the leadership in the “Glass House” and comrades in hiding all around the city, some with Aryan documents and others without any documents. She stayed at the “Glass House” on Vadász Street from where she went on many missions. Haya distributed Swiss Protection Documents and made contact with activists from the movement who also operated with Aryan documents. Haya rescued Jews from the Death March. After the liberation of Hungary she collected Jewish children and educated them. She made aliya in 1947 as an instructor with a group of children on a long journey that took two years via Austria, Germany, France and Cyprus. From the day she arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine), she continued to do educational work. Haya, a retired teacher, resides in Jerusalem.
